Two nights ago, Mike turned to me and asked, "So what are we going to do?". His innocent question felt like a punch to the gut and all I could respond with was, "I have absolutely no idea."
Every day, I spend a countless amount of time mindlessly scrolling through Zillow (residential listings) and LoopNet (commercial listings). I've become a Jedi-Master at clicking on the round dots on the map and quickly deciphering whether a property has potential for us or not. When I've exhausted every possible dot on the map, I then turn to Google with questions like "Best Towns in America", "Up and Coming Cities", "Historical Buildings For Sale" and then begin my dot search again based on the new search findings.
Why is our search so complicated you ask?
If we just had to find our dream home, the process would look something like this:
BUT, oh that would be too easy!
We have a lot of long-term goals; including starting new businesses, income for retirement, building and designing our dream home, PLUS having enough property and appropriate zoning so aging family can live within walking distance. It's a lot to fit into one piece of land.
These factors make me feel overwhelmed, but luckily I've had this impossible feeling many, many times before and I know that when I get to that breaking point of gloom, that's when something amazing happens.
We just don't know what amazing looks like or where amazing will be yet...
